Prince Edward Island has continued to prioritize international graduates and candidates with strong in-province ties in its latest provincial immigration draw.

On February 19, 2026, the province conducted a new selection round under the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP), in line with its anticipated Invitation to Apply (ITA) schedule for 2026.

109 Invitations Issued

In this round, 109 candidates received invitations through the Labour Impact and Express Entry pathways.

According to the PEI Office of Immigration, invitations were primarily issued to individuals working in occupations and priority sectors considered to have high economic impact in the province. These sectors include:

  • Healthcare
  • Skilled trades
  • Manufacturing
  • Other industries experiencing labour shortages

The province also indicated that individuals employed in the sales and service sector may not receive invitations at this time.

International Graduates Receive Additional Priority

International graduates from select designated learning institutions (DLIs) were further prioritized in this draw, including graduates of:

  • University of Prince Edward Island
  • Holland College
  • Collège de l’Île

This continued emphasis highlights PEI’s strategy of retaining talent already trained within the province and supporting sectors facing ongoing labour shortages.

Upcoming PEI PNP Draw Dates for 2026

If the province follows its anticipated schedule, the next PEI PNP draws are expected on:

  • March 19, 2026
  • April 16, 2026

The full anticipated ITA schedule for the remainder of 2026 includes monthly draws through December 17, 2026. However, PEI has emphasized that these dates are for informational purposes only and are not guaranteed.

Choosing the Right Stream

Prospective applicants can use PEI’s Workforce Program Selector Tool to explore potential eligibility under provincial workforce pathways. The tool guides users through questions related to:

  • Age
  • Education
  • Work experience
  • Job offers (if applicable)

While the selector provides an initial indication of potential eligibility, candidates are encouraged to review the official Workforce Application Guide before submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) or application.

Why This Matters

PEI’s latest draw reinforces the province’s targeted approach to immigration in 2026, prioritizing candidates with local education, in-demand skills, and strong ties to the provincial labour market.

For international graduates and skilled workers already in Prince Edward Island, aligning employment with priority sectors may significantly improve the chances of receiving an invitation under the PEI PNP this year.
