Kelowna, British Columbia has announced its 2026 priorities for the Francophone Community Immigration Pilot (FCIP), creating new opportunities for French-speaking immigrants seeking Canadian permanent residence.

The program lists 25 priority occupations, including 8 newly added roles such as accounting technicians, cabinetmakers, medical lab assistants, painters and decorators, and finance and administrative supervisors.

Six priority sectors will be targeted in 2026, including Sales and Service, Trades and Transport, Education and Social Services, Health, Natural and Applied Sciences, and a new sector this year: Business, Finance and Administration.

📅 Seven intake periods will take place in 2026, with the first opening on June 15.
Each intake runs from the 15th to the 30th of the month, and employers can submit up to three recommendations per intake.

The FCIP aims to attract French-speaking skilled workers to smaller Canadian communities while helping local employers fill labour shortages.
